Welcome: We
welcome our guests who are visiting with us for the
first time. May the Lord give you
peace and joy.

2009-2010 Elders/Deacons Confirmation:
Last Sunday there were 287
members participated in voting: 261 for votes, 2 against vote, 14 abstain
votes. There were 17 non-members voted. All of the candidates were confirmed.
May our Lord guide them and strengthen them in serving Him.

Graded
Children Choirs Registration :
Kinder (4 & 5 years
old), children (1 st & 2 nd Grade) and Junior Choir ( 3 rd to 5
th Grade) could be registered at the lobby, after the Noon Service from
12:15pm-1:00pm today. There will be a registration fee of $ 5.00. For
registration after 8/31, the fee will be $ 10.00.

Awana
Clubs:
Pick up your registration forms today in the lobby. Club begins
on 9/12. Cost for the school year (September to May) is $60/clubber
and includes uniform, books, and awards.

Chinese
School New School Year: Will
start on Sunday, 9/7.To register, please go to the Chinese School counter
on the 2 nd floor or contact Principal Chen at 713-560-9424 or 713-662-3166.

English Buddy is starting
a new year! We are
looking for English partners to meet with internationals to practice
English conversation and share God's love. We will be pairing you with
an international with similar interests, age, and gender to meet 1-2
times per month. We welcome college, singles, couples, and families!

2008 HCC Family
Picnic : Set
aside Saturday, October 4, from 10:00 am-2:00pm for our annual
church picnic. Family, friends, buddies, and pets on leashes welcome.
Wonderful lunch, ice cream, relaxing time with each other, children's
playground at Pavillion #3 in George Bush Park . Monies and love
offerings will be sent to AIDS/Poverty Relief efforts. Sign-up

Community Outreach:
There will be a joint effort among ten churches in our community to
make an impact in our neighborhood by serving Shearn Elementary School
, which is located three blocks from our church at 610 and Stella Link.
A work day is schedule on Saturday, 10/18 to do landscaping, painting,
and repairs for the school. The Bible says that the world will know
God is real when His children is able to work together. (John 17:20-23).
