Confess to God the times when we seek our way rather than His way in our lives. Thank God for hearing our prayers and always is the merciful God. THANKSGIVING I will thank you in the great congregation; the mighty throng I will praise you. Psalm 35:18
We are thankful for last week's pulpit ministry. Pastor Lew reminded us to stay within God's boundary and Pastor Mou encouraged us to live an extraordinary life in an ordinary day. SUPPLICATION I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words. Psalm 17:6 Around the World 1. Republic of Malta : is comprised of three small but strategic islands in the central Mediterranean . Malta was the first nation in Europe to embrace Christianity after Apostle Paul's shipwreck on the island. However, to many to be Maltese is to be Catholic. Protestant evangelical witness among Maltese is growing. Pray for the growth of the Bible ministry, Christian literature and radio among the Maltese and the tourists who visit. 2. May there be peace in Israel and Lebanon . Pray for the leaders of the world to find a way to stop the fighting and bring peace to the region. 3. The oil prices are affecting the price of gasoline. Pray for the oil supply and prices. May the pipeline in Alaska soon be repaired and be functional. Pray that the supply be sufficient and the prices maintained reasonable. Our Church and Other Ministries 4. Pastor Tow and Pastor Mou will be the speakers this Sunday. May God use them mightily to touch lives. 5. The Children's Department is still in need of Sunday school teachers and nursery volunteers. Pray that many respond to the children's needs and ‘follow Jesus' example of welcoming children to the family of God'. 6. The pastoral staff and HCC council members will attend a leadership conference on 8/10-12. Pray that they gain new insightful ideas to bring back for future application. 7. The new school year will begin in many schools. Pray for the smooth adjustments for our students to new schedules. Pray that the teachers and staff in our schools will teach our children according to God's will. 8. Pray for the graded children's choir, the youth choir and the handbell choirs which are accepting registration this month. May our younger generation learn how to worship and minister in music. 9. The Christmas pageant preparation is underway. May God provide the singers, actors and other co-workers in other related areas. 10. Pray for the Choir Festival preparation. May God provide the needed musicians for the mass choir. May God provide the needed helpers in hospitality, lunch and other logistics. 11. Praise God for the good response in the Mark VI 5-day Bible Club. Two children accepted Christ as their personal Saviour and Lord. May God continue to watch over our summer intern, Jon Li, and guide him as he ministers to them. 12. Conrad Loh is traveling to attend and minister at a retreat and camp. May God use him, protect and grant him strength. 13. Pastor Hsueh is preparing for his mission trip to Asia in September. Pray that God will prepare his path in order to serve and reach many. 14. Many new college students will be in Houston for the new semester. Pray that God uses us to love and care for them as they settle in a new environment. May they have the opportunity to hear the gospel. 15. Continue to pray for the joint Mandarin Fellowships Retreat. Pray that God prepare and use the speaker to help His children grow spiritually. 16. Pray for Josephine Chang who is in the field to make God's name known so that all people can worship Him. Pray for protection and freedom to share God's love, grace and hope. 17. Praise God that James Lee completed his month-long intern ministry to improve the audio and visual effects at HCC and to share his knowledge with co-workers. May our audio and visual co-workers competently apply what they have learned as they serve. May God bless James as he studies in Amarillo . Individuals 18. We thank God for hearing many of our prayers. At home and/or under doctor's care : Yi-Fang Peng, Shirley Huang (dialysis), Dennis Huang, James Chen (at M.D. Anderson), Ting Liang, Ting Chung Liao, Grace Chen, Xuedong Dai (back problem) and his mother who is anemic, David Qin, Jing Li, Richard Bao ( Stoney Brook Health Center), Liang Zhang, Hushan Yang, Lee Ying Wang, Huifeng Liu, Helen, Ngan Wai (Amy Tong's mother), Erlinda Aquino (Jennifer Aquino's mother), Ding Qin Shen's father-in-law, Julia Xu Liu, Cynthia Chan's father (Prostate cancer), and JoAnna Quan's father (ICU Methodist Hospital). 19. Pray for the brothers and sisters seeking employment opportunities. May God direct their paths and open doors: Shih-Hsin Kao, Weilie Pang, Fang Fang and Meng Jiang. 20. May God continue to watch over the expectant mothers: Yen Yen Kong, Vivian Liu, Hong Zhang, Yujing Li, Yaxia Zou, Stephanie Chiang , Esther Szeto, Yingqing Guo, Emay Yeng, and Alice Ho. Remember the new parents and pray that they fully enjoy God's gift of their little ones.
