FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Money
and Heart (Part 1)
Pastor William Hsueh
In about 648 days, our country will hold
the next presidential election. Politicians and political parties are
working hard to find images and sound bites that will appeal to voters'
hearts. Knowing that once they capture your heart, they will not only
get your votes but also your money. Very often, the Christian circle
is no different. Images of starving or smiling children tug at our heart
strings, pleading and urging us to help. They know if your heart is
captured and your feeling is touched, you are more likely to take out
your checkbook. The saying is: where your heart is, so is your money.
But
listen to what Jesus has to say on this. “ For
where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21).
This is radical and contrarian to the contemporary thoughts. Now, how
do we know where to put our money? Stay tuned.
