Walking
Hand In Hand Minister
Linh Phan
“In
the name of Jesus ”
impacted me greatly because
it has taught me what it means to be the servant of God. It is to embrace
the meaning of the incarnate God. To know this incarnate God means
to know the heart of God, a heart that forgives those who are hard to
forgive, that cares for those who are abandoned by others, that reaches
out to those who are lonely and in despair. This concept of knowing
the heart of God is not only knowledge and knowing in your head. The author,
Henry Nouwen has challenged me to live it out as I serve the Lord in His
kingdom. Is the ministry I am doing truly embracing the heart of
God, or am I serving just to magnify my self-indulgence? Moreover, the
author points out that Jesus Christ's ministry is working along side with
people. Although He is a sovereign God, having full authority and power,
He humbles himself and lives, works, and understands people in a very
close friendship pattern. What a beautiful picture. It reminds us that
we are not superior to those we serve. We need to follow His footsteps
be along side with those who God bought into our lives.
