Much
was given, much will be required (I)

This
year, HCC had a record number of people going on mission trips. We thank
God that all came back safely. After we returned and shared our experiences,
we found that the experiences were unforgettable in many ways. It certainly
was a challenge in the living standard in some places in comparison with
what we are used to in the States. We were reminded how much we are blessed
with all kinds of resources here. We also recognized that God has given
our church with people, talent and financial resources in abundance. I
am reminded of Jesus' teaching in Luke 12:48: … to whom much was
given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted
much, they will demand the more.” God has given us much and one
day He will require much from us. One of the principles of God's kingdom
is that the people or churches that have been given more have a greater
responsibility toward those around us who have so little.
